Abstract

Water availability plays a crucial role in supporting agricultural productivity,
especially in regions with prolonged dry seasons. Delingan Reservoir in
Karanganyar Regency was constructed to supply irrigation water and control
floods, yet agricultural land expansion, climate change, and rainfall fluctuations
often cause imbalances between supply and demand. This study applies a
quantitative approach using rainfall, climatology, reservoir technical data, and
cropping
patterns,
analyzed
through
water
balance
calculations,
evapotranspiration using the Modified Penman method, and crop planning based
on KP-01 standards. Results show that water availability during 2020–2024
reached its peak in February at 3,095,651.94 m³ and its lowest in October at
1,774,989.74 m³. The existing cropping pattern (rice–rice–secondary crops) could
not be fully supported, while the alternative pattern (rice–secondary crops–
secondary crops) demonstrated better potential when adjusted to reservoir outflow.
20 Therefore, the alternative cropping pattern is feasible to apply with efficient water
management.
