Abstract

Motorcycle Special Stop Room (RHK) is one of the facilities and efforts to reduce
the buildup of vehicles at intersection points. This research aims to find out how
much influence the Special Stop Room (RHK) for motorbikes has on the
performance of signalized intersections related to the level of intersection service,
evaluation of the RHK design, as well as knowing the relationship between traffic
flow and the level of occupancy of the Special Stop Room. The research location is at the intersection of four Univet and intersection of five Suko-harjo. The research
was carried out by direct survey in the field (manual) and via CCTV from the
Sukoharjo transportation service, recorded on a form and then processed using
Microsoft Excel software referring to the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual MKJI
1997 and circular letter from the Minister of Public Works and Housing Number
52/SE /M/2015 concerning Special Breaking Room Design Guidelines. Based on
the research results obtained, it shows that 1) The average level of service at the
intersection of four Uni-vet and intersection five Sukoharjo is C. 2) The RHK at the
research location still has violations, the width per lane is 3 meters or does not
comply with the requirements, namely 3.5 meters, several RHK marking lines and
signs at the research location did not comply with the requirements. 3) The
relationship between traffic flow and RHK occupancy at the intersection of four
Univet and intersection five Sukoharjo. It can be said that traffic flow and time
influence the number of RHK occupancy at each approach. It is hoped that the
Sukoharjo district government will use the results of this research as a reference in
evaluating Motorcycle Special Stop Spaces (RHK).
